Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, absolutely! Virtual counseling services have become increasingly popular since the COVID-19 pandemic. Convenience and the ability to attend therapy in the comfortable environment of your own home make this an excellent option for many. For those clients wishing to seek help via telehealth, please give us a call. Our telehealth services are done over a secure server. All client sessions are entirely confidential between the client and therapist. Telehealth services are covered by many insurance providers depending on the client’s plan.
Please contact your therapist directly to cancel or reschedule your appointment. We do have a 24-hour cancellation policy. If you do not cancel a session after 24 hours of your scheduled appointment time, you will be charged the out-of-network rate of $180.00 for the session. Missed session fees are charged to the client and are not able to be reimbursed via your insurance provider.

Each individual that we see has different needs. Your therapy process will evolve, and everyone will take a different amount of time to reach their goals. Your assigned therapist will work with you to determine the frequency of your sessions. Generally, sessions are 50 minutes weekly. Your therapist will work with you to alter your therapy schedule as your needs and goals change.
During your first session, you will have completed our intake paperwork. After, a therapist will review any questions and discuss our policies. The first session is a “get to know you” session, where the client can set personal goals based on the challenges they are encountering in their daily life. Each individual’s therapy process will look different and will be individualized for their needs. Over the course of treatment, therapists and clients will work together to identify additional needs and develop strengths that will become the foundation we build upon to help clients reach their goals. The therapist will introduce skills and strategies to help clients achieve their highest selves. Our therapists believe in a collaborative approach, working with families, schools, and other outside providers as appropriate.
Social difficulties are one of the main challenges experienced by children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). According to numerous studies, children, teens, and adults with ASD or ADHD can benefit greatly from group therapy. Over time, clients can expect lower stress levels and feel empowered in social situations. SociAbility employs two evidence-based therapy methods: the PEERS® Social Skills Curriculum and the SocialThinking® (Superflex™) Curriculum. We have been offering this therapy method since 2008 and have witnessed most of our clients achieve measurable success. Our groups run on trimesters and are co-facilitated by a therapist and a social skills actor, with 5 - 8 individuals enrolled per group. Groups run for either 60 or 75 minutes once per week. Group enrollment requires the completion of an intake appointment before registration. Group therapy is in high demand, and spots fill up quickly. Please contact us immediately to reserve your spot or join our waitlist.
SociAbility employs highly trained therapists and psychologists that specialize in working with people with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), ADHD, anxiety, social anxiety, and mood disorders. Our therapists utilize a variety of evidence-based practices to help their clients achieve their goals.
We are an in-network provider of individual & couples therapy and evaluation (testing) services only. All our therapists are in-network with BCBS PPO. We have some therapists in-network with Aetna PPO and United Behavioral Health PPO. We can also provide statements for group therapy for submission to your insurance provider for any out-of-network benefit. If you are out of network, we will provide a statement including the information you need to obtain reimbursement from your insurance carrier. However, we cannot guarantee repayment from your health coverage provider. Reimbursement is at the sole discretion of your insurance provider. SociAbility’s social skills groups are considered out-of-network, and we do not accept any insurance for this service.
